Cape Town sunset

The view from our balcony toward the west.

The Young family on the road

We've gone thousands of kilometers in southern Africa in our green Renault. This is near Jo'burg by a field of sunflowers.

The occasion was Gloria's birthday, and it was a gloriously beautiful day. We saw some huge, angry baboons, but we didn't catch any fish. I did catch a duck by the beak, but we didn't keep him for long.

Our memorable fishing trip back in 2006.

Evangel and Berwick

I'm typing with flies buzzing around like an Egyptian plague. I'm not sure what we've done to deserve them, though this adorable Alsatian has something to do with it, I'm sure. Berwick is all trained to go outdoors, but she prefers good solid concrete underfoot, to the fuzzy feel of grass. Apparently, this nasty habit attracts flies.
Berwick has a few quirks, another of them being that she likes to sleep in the shower. I don't mind that, but she had to have a little window to look through, so she chewed a hole through the hot-pink shower curtain. That's not cute.
